Policies of the Finding in Florida Registry

Finding in Florida is a FREE mutual consent registry.  That means that both parties must be registered in order to determine a match.  Contact information is released only in the case of a potential match, and only to the two parties concerned.  Information about our registrants is NEVER released to a third party.

When it appears that a match has been made, initially the only information passed along is an email address, in the hopes that the searcher can contact the person they have found by email.  In this way, the person who was found can reveal as much or as little about themselves as they feel comfortable with.  If an email address in invalid, additional information may be released, if the registrant gave their permission to do so when they registered.  If this is not the case, the registry owner will act as an intermediary.

Professional searchers and search angels need not register with us, because no information will be shared except with the two parties involved in a match.

In the case of matches involving a minor, we require written permission of the adoptive parents in order to facilitate the match.

In cases where the registration is old and the information is out of date, the registry owner will work through her contacts to attempt to obtain more recent information.
